Cruising Tips from 34 Years of Local Knowledge
🌅 First Night Recommendation
Most of our customers anchor at Tipplers on their first night. It's the perfect spot to settle in, get comfortable with your houseboat, and enjoy a sunset BBQ on the deck.
🌬️ Check the Wind
Each anchorage has different wind protection. Check the forecast and choose an anchorage that's protected from the prevailing wind direction for a calm, comfortable night.
🦀 Crabbing Season
The best crabbing spots are around Eden Island and Tiger Mullet Channel. Mud crabs are best caught during warmer months (October to April).
⚓ Anchoring Distance
Always anchor at least 3 boat lengths from shore and other vessels. This gives you room to swing with tide and wind changes overnight.
